Nudie Nails

I have always loved to peruse the Essie nail polishes when I can, just for the pure joy of giggling at their names. Although I love the names and colors I had yet to purchase any Essie products, simply for the price tag. Somehow I feel that nine dollars for a nail polish is a bit unreasonable. However, I made my first venture into Essie with the polish color Sand Tropez.

Sand Tropez is a lovely tan color that I think will look really awesome when I start tanning and wearing all of my bright colors for spring and summer. After wearing it for this whole week I've been really impressed! Even without a top coat (I know naughty me!) It lasted with minimal chips for a few days. I think that's very impressive seeing as my nails tend to last about 20 minutes without a chip (topcoat included!). It has a really nice shine and I'm very impressed with the consistency and application. It does require a few coats as it is a pretty sheer, light color.

All in all, I'm very impressed with my first Essie purchase and hope to be expanding my collection. I think my next purchase will definitely be Mint Candy Apple!

Let me know what your favorite nail polish color is, I'm always looking to grow my collection!

The Body Shop

I recently took a trip into Boston and traveled down Newbury Street with a few friends. We did some shopping and had a nice dinner at Wagamama's which would have been incomplete without the waitress spilling water all over me.

I hadn't purchased anything all day as I've been in a slight shopping rut (my bank account is very pleased). When we got to the mall however, I took a peek inside The Body Shop and finally after months and months of pining for any product I picked something up.

I bought the Strawberry Shower Scrub & Moisture Set. It was difficult to pick a scent I was really stuck between Satsuma and Strawberry and Strawberry won (if you want tell me in the comments what your favorite scent is). The set has a Shower Gel, Body Butter, and Body Polish (which is essentially a scrub). In addition the set came with a cute tiny loofa and a mesh bag that I think will be great for travel. The set costs $15 and I think it's a great kit for anyone who's never tried Body Shop before and doesn't want to drop $20 on something they may not like.

Hope you're having a great day and let me know in the comments if you would like a review for any of the products.

Skin Care Mistakes

Do you ever go out shopping and come home full of excitement for all of the new things you've bought? That was me last weekend, I picked up four new things from target all face/makeup related items and I made a huge mistake. So I'm here to tell you about it so maybe you can learn from my mistakes.

The four items I picked up were a new cleanser, moisturizer, mascara, and concealer. I of course immediately started them all into my daily skin care and makeup routine. That is where I went wrong.

I know it's hard to put your new products away right after you've purchased them. Heck the second I stepped in the door I tried out my concealer and mascara. The first day it wasn't too bad but it was later that I really hit some trouble, dry skin.

I usually have slightly drier skin as it's the winter for me and my skin is dry to begin with. But this is crazy. My the skin around my eyes got so dry that it stung putting makeup on and it only got worse.

I am nearly 100% sure now that it was the moisturizer that caused all the chaos but, for the first few days I honestly had no idea.
The lesson here is to slowly add your new products into your makeup and skin care regime one by one so that if something goes wrong you can pin point exactly what it is.

Hope you're having a great day and comment down below if you've made the same mistake I had!

The Girl Behind the Blog

Hello my lovelies!

My name is Maggie. I am 18 and it seems that introductions are in order.

I am currently finishing my senior year of high school and moving out into the big scary world on my own. I'm quite terrified if I'm being honest so I figured I can distract myself through blogging.

After perusing the blogosphere for a while I have decided to take the scary but exciting step into creating my own and thus FairFleur was born. The blog title comes from a tumblr URL that I have had for a while that I have grown quite attached to as I have quite a thing for alliteration.

Hopefully this blog will become a place where I can share beauty, fashion, lifestyle posts.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this little blurb and hopefully you might decide to stick around!
